2017 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards
Best London Restaurant
Best UK Restaurant

As with Fucina’s authentic and diverse understanding of Italian cooking, the design of the restaurant is borne out of an artesian approach to construction. Guests’ enjoyment of the wonderful food, is enhanced by the beguiling environment in which it is prepared and served – the product of a collaboration between Kurt Zdesar and multidisciplinary design practice AMA (Andy Martin Architecture).

The parabolic brick ceiling is captivating, whilst the combination of oversized timber entrance doors, terrazzo floor, polished plaster and blackened steel openable façade panels provide a warm (yet industrial) back-drop. Finishes meet and align with clinical precision, and nothing is left to chance.

We orchestrated a cosmopolitan network of specialist suppliers and manufacturers – stone was quarried from Italy and machined in Portugal, profiled riven steel panels were crafted in Germany along with custom-woven mesh, our two-storey wine store was fabricated by Italian engineers….all assembled under our very own undulating brick-bellied ceiling. We are proud to have been part of a project that culminated in Fucina being awarded the Winner of Best UK Restaurant.
