Arguably the best department store in the world, Selfridges sets the benchmark for high-end fashion and quality. It has undergone a rolling programme of refurbishment and we have been fortunate enough to have played our small part in this in recent years. Presided over by Chinese design studio Neri&Hu, Bridport undertook the refurbishment of Selfridges’ flagship women’s underwear department.

Combining design references from Japan and California, their input stretched from gigantic brass and oak lanterns over the escalators, to an exquisite oak veneered vestibule leading to VIP fitting rooms. Suspended brass, sliding doors maintain the seamless curved profile of the circular fitting room entrance lobby. All veneers meet and align immaculately – a product of our fastidious approach to setting out, and a testament to our own in-house technical draughting teams (not to mention carpenters).

Working with establishments of this size and prestige is something that we have become very accustomed to. It demonstrates our ability to apply our own considerable expertise in an environment which is being managed by other entities.
